King David EXAMPLE OF A WORSHIPER
Many biblical characters are references for our lives, for they leave us examples of faith, courage, obedience, patience, etc. But only one was considered by God himself “Man after my own heart” (I Sam 13:14): David, the greatest king of Israel.
Who was David? A perfect, supernatural man, without sin? No! David was similar to any of us, however, he learned that the best way to reach the heart of God is the way of worship, humility, sincerity and repentance.

II - WHAT ASPECTS OF DAVI'S CHARACTER?
KING DAVI EXAMPLE OF A WORSHIPER
David is one of the main characters in the Bible. Its history is recorded in more than sixty chapters of the Bible; about 60 references are made to him in the New Testament, in addition to appearing in the genealogy of the Lord Jesus; to this day he is remembered as the greatest king of Israel and, twice in the Bible, he is called “man after God's own heart” (I Sam 13.14; Ac 13.22). Why so much honor to a man who, although remarkable, had his life punctuated by serious sins?

1. David was a man whose heart was inclined to the Lord:
David was a spiritual man, whose life was in harmony with the wishes of God (I Sam 17:36).
III - DAVI, EXAMPLE OF A WORSHIPER
As we study the biography of this servant of God, we see that David was not just a shepherd who became a warrior, and later, the king of Israel. He was also a great musician: he composed more than 70 psalms, played his harp very well and demonstrated skill in organizing the song when he took over the kingdom of Israel. Let's see why he is an example of a worshiper:
1. David was known as a musician:
When Saul was being tormented by an evil spirit, he said, "Seek me, then, a man who touches well, and bring it to me." One of his servants replied: “… I have seen a son of Jesse, who can play…” (I Sm 16.17.18). This expression reveals that the king's servant knew David, not only as a shepherd, but also as a musician.

2. David was obedient when asked to play his harp before the king:
Since he had already been anointed king of Israel, he could refuse to be the king's musician. However, he was not just a musician, he was an obedient musician: he came, brought gifts to Saul (I Sm 16.20) and played his harp in front of him (I Sm 16.23).
3. When David strummed his harp, the evil spirit withdrew from Saul:
What is the reason why that evil spirit left? Certainly, the songs that David played, and he certainly sang, were not mundane and superficial songs, given the whims and human tastes. They were sacred and inspired by God. Many are available to us in the book of Psalms.
IV- DAVI, A MAN WHO LEARNED TO DEAL WITH HUMAN FEELINGS

Like any man, David faced moments of crisis, such as: hatred, desire for revenge, etc. Chapters 24, 25 and 26 of 1 Samuel reveal facts worth mentioning when we study David's life. They offer us important lessons for those who wish to improve their relationship with God and, consequently, with their neighbors.
1. Dealing with revenge (I Sm 24: 1-22):
David had a chance to kill Saul. He was with his men in the caves of En-Gedi (source of the goats), when Saul, coming tired of a battle, entered the cave where David was hiding with his men. Was it the opportunity to end that persecution? That was what his warriors told him (v.4), but that was not what David did. He gave Saul proof of his faithfulness, cutting only the hem of his robe, but preserving his life (vv.4-11). David had confidence in God, and he did not allow himself to be overcome by the temptation of vengeance (Rom. 12: 18-21), in addition to teaching this lesson to his followers (v.7).
2. Dealing with anger (I Sm 25: 2-13):
3. Lidando com a misericórdia (I Sm 25.18-35):
4. Lidando com a longanimidade (I Sm 26.1-25):
Rei Davi EXEMPLO DE UM ADORADOR .
